inkAID, in association with Booksmart Studios, is pleased to announce the addition of Booksmart Studios ink jet printable fine art metals into our line of fine art digital imaging materials. These fine art metals are comprised of aluminum and gold coated with clear gloss ink jet receptive coating and provide clear, crisp images with a beautifully luminous background. The fine art metals provide digital artists with a unique substrate allowing them to incorporate new and exciting elements into their work.
The fine art metal series is available in thicknesses of 0.005", 0.012", and 0.016" and sheet sizes of 8.5" x 11", A3 (11.7" x 16.53"), 13" x 19", 17" x 22", 20" x 24", and 20" x 36". Additional sheet sizes of 20" x 40" and 20" x 60" are available as special order items. Adhesive backing is included to simplify the mounting process and is optional on certain sizes.
The fine art metals are available in aluminum, with Brushed Silver, Matte Silver, Satin Silver, and Satin White finishes and in gold, with a Satin Gold Finish.
A fine art metals sampler set is available containing four sheets of 0.012" thickness material in Matte Silver, Satin Silver, Satin Gold, and Satin White finishes, and one sheet of Brushed Silver finish in 0.016" thickness, all with adhesive backing.
After printing, the fine art metals require top coating with Golden Artist Colors MSA Varnish or the Clear Jet coatings from Clearstar Corporation.
Printers
Printers
having a "straight through" substrate path can be used with the 0.005", 0.012", and 0.016" thicknesses. Printers incorporating a "J-curve" substrate path are limited to the 0.005" thick material. Before printing, check to ensure that the metal will feed through the printer by loading a sheet.
Many printers provide maximum substrate thickness limits in millimeters (mm).
0.005 inches equals 0.127 millimeters (mm)
0.012 inches equals 0.305 millimeters (mm)
0.016 inches equals 0.406 millimeters (mm)
