inkAID Clear Gloss Precoat

Basic Application Directions

Clear Gloss Precoat can be applied to any surface or substrate that can be fed safely through your printer. It is especially useful where you want to preserve the color, pattern, or image on the surface of the substrate. A precoat with a semi-gloss finish is also available from inkAID.

Note that this precoat works successfully with printers with wheels or guides (also known as "pizza wheels") ONLY IF the surface of the substrate is porous, like paper. If applied to a non-porous surface like plastic, “pizza wheels” can drag across the printed surface and damage the print or gum up the printer.

Directions: Applying the Adhesive (Adhesive is needed only for non-porous surfaces.)

1. Check MSDS Adhesive (for Clear Gloss Precoat) for safety instructions in handling this product. Wear protective gloves.

2. Stir inkAID Adhesive before applying.

3. Brush onto surface making a light and even coating of Adhesive. Foam brushes give a smoother coat than bristle brushes. You may find diluting the Adhesive with up to 10% water will help it apply smoother. If you can cover your entire surface thoroughly and evenly with one coat, you will not need to add a second. If you are unsure, allow coated surface to dry overnight and add a second coat.

1. Apply Adhesive if required as described above.

2. Check MSDS Clear Gloss Precoat for safety instructions in handling this product. Wear protective gloves.

3. Stir inkAID Gloss Precoat before applying.
