Quick Overview

Title: “Creating a Digitally Printed Emulsion Skin for a Three Dimensional Object”. In this tutorial Mary Taylor demonstrates how to create a thin, flexible and transparent digital emulsion skin to print on and adhere it to a three dimensional object. The digital skin is first prepared on a carrier sheet, then coated with inkAID, and then run through the printer after being attached to a second carrier sheet. After coming out of the printer, the image is coated for protection and added stability. The finished printed digital skin is then removed from the initial carrier sheet and glued to a three dimensional object. Run time – 23 minutes. Includes resource document to find all required materials. Download the License Agreement and a Note about Safety.

The digital skin is first prepared on a carrier sheet, then coated with inkAID, and then run through the printer after being attached to a second carrier sheet. The process of attaching the prepared digital skin to the second carrier allows for a full bleed print. After coming out of the printer, the image is coated for protection and added stability. The finished printed digital skin is then removed from the initial carrier sheet and glued to a three dimensional object. Run time – 23 minutes.
