Title: “Printing onto Sheet Aluminum”. In this tutorial Mary Taylor shows how to prepare mill finish aluminum sheet for ink jet printing. Starting by properly cleaning the aluminum to remove processing lubricants, Mary then demonstrates how to trim out a 12 inch by 12 inch piece sheet for the project. Thankfully, this is no longer necessary now that standard aluminum sheet sizes are available. The aluminum is then coated with inkAID Clear Gloss Type II and attached to a carry sheet to run through the printer. After printing, the aluminum is top coated to protect the image. The final step involves attaching the completed print to a mounting board for display. Run time – 18 minutes. Includes resource document to find all required materials.
