What will you learn today?

inkAID Tutorial Videos are now available. These instructional videos, from the best instructors working with alternative digital surfaces, demonstrate a single project from start to finish. Each project includes a video file and resource document which can be downloaded, up to three times, to any device with an internet connection. There’s no DVD to ship and you can watch them anytime you want, anywhere you want, at your convenience. Each Tutorial Video comes with a printable resource document which includes a list of all materials used in the project and links to where you can find them.

We’re starting off with four projects taught by Mary Taylor. These include preparing and printing on a digital skin, a custom textured surface, fine art paper, and aluminum. Several more Tutorial Videos are in the planning stages and will be added in the future.

    $9.95

Title: Creating a Textured Surface on a Dimensionally Stable Material

In this tutorial Mary Taylor demonstrates how to create a custom textured printing surface on a spunbonded polyester material, Reemay, or spunbonded polyethylene, Tyvek. A sheet of Tyvek is textured using vinyl spackle. The textured surface is then coated with inkAID Iridescent Gold and Pearl to provide a glowing print on the vinyl spackle. Before printing, the prepared substrate is tested for thickness using an innovative "slot ruler". The finished image is then glued to a backing board and the edges are painted to carry the image around to the back board. Run time - 18 minutes.
